Jack White’s New Band… “The Dead Weather”!

Posted by chesterfrench on Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

This is pretty cool… Jack White, guitar player, singer and front-man from both The White Stripes and The Raconteurs, has a new band, called The Dead Weather.

But in THIS group, he’s the drummer! We think.

The rest of the lineup includes the lead singer of The Kills and, uh, some other people.

Whatever. Check it out.

One of the “other people” is Dean Fertita who has been a touring member of Raconteurs and QOTSA (he played guitar and keyboards). I’m familiar with Dean’s past recordings as a lead singer/songwriter/guitarist for the former Detroit based band, The Waxwings.

Here’s a link for The Waxwings “Steady As Starlight” with Dean singing lead vocals : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lhEYffRA58w

Another Waxwings track, “Clouded Over” (but Dean is not singing lead vocals here) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcAePmJPi3Y

1 of the best bands I’ve heard in a long time. Jack White is as sweet on drums as he is on the strings! Check it out on iTunes.
