Chester French Police

Posted by chesterfrench on Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

Chester French supporter extraordinaire Bryce brought us all the Lessons in Endurance a few months back. Well, he’s back with a brand new video showcasing a brilliant and hilarious way to promote Chester French. Check out Chester French Police:

We think we might just have the most creative supporters out there. And so we’re asking you guys and girls out there to put your thinking caps on.

We’re going to be all over the USA (and parts of Canada too) on this Blink 182 tour. Each city, each day is a different chance to connect with supporters and help them spread the word about Chester French (and sometimes, reward those of you with the most creative ideas).

So we’re asking you to post, right here in the comments, ideas on how to help spread the good word on Chester French. Leave as many comments as you can and we want an idea from everyone. Remember, there are no bad ideas… just bad dancing.

Comment away!

AIRBANDING IN THE MIDDLE OF YOUR LOCAL MALL TO CHESTER FRENCH DRESSED IN JACQUES JAMS WEAR, AFTERWARDS HANDING OUT COPIES OF JACQUES JAMS TO THE AUDIENCE

  • Mandie says:

Hahahahaha I love the Clinton T-shirt.

  • My friends and I dressed up in 80’s workout clothes and went to Hollywood and Highland and walked around with a boombox playing Jacques Jams. We handed out about 100 copies!!!
We recorded it and have been meaning to send it in but we’re having some technical difficulties uploading the footage but hopefully we’ll be able to get it to you soon!!!!!

OOOOO!!!! A huge blimp!!!! It could have a really big picture of you guys and then there could be a neon sign on the blimp that says Chester French!!!!! It could also be blasting your music!!!!!!!!!! That sounds impossible though…..

You could make awesome shirts with pictures of you two, give them to all our friends and just walk around downtown with huge signs that say “LISTEN TO CHESTER FRENCH” We would fit in pretty well downtown….still, i like my blimp idea….

You’re best bet is to make a viral video like so: Title it simply “MEGAN FOX EATS A POPSICLE” (who wouldn’t want to watch that? Also, make sure the thumbnail is that of Megan Fox. Then, when people click on it, you can have two things: either have the video for “She Loves Everybody” play (in ode to Rick Rolling), or, film yourselves rehearsing a cover of “Never Gonna Give You Up” by Rick Astley. You could either call it French Rolling or simply “Croissanting” (huh? huh? get it? yeah? *sigh*)

I can tell you one of the best ways to spread the word on Chester French and that is mentioning them on Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, etc. Mention Chester French in emails and during telephone conversations. I talk about Chester French all the time. I email my friends links to the Chester French web pages. My friends email or call me with questions about Chester French. How did I hear of them? Where can they hear more Chester French music, Have I seen them live (I have!) I love Chester French and we should encourage everyone we know to “Get Familiar!”

You should use that kid from the video he is adorable and awesome.

Also you need to do something scandalous, something memorable… like one of you needs to sleep with Oprah… better yet, both of you! everyone will know you fo shoo. you could pick another ridiculously wealthy and influential person to sleep with… or perhaps a train wreck celebraty like Britney :)

If you don’t want to slut yourselves out and you cant get a dumb reality show on MTV or something than I think you guys are doing awesome and you will BLOW UP real real soon. True talent like yours + time + lots of effort SHOULD = great success
    much love

    • IRIS says:

we dont want them to get negative publicity!!! well, at least i dont want them to…. and ya you guys are gonna blow up really soon!!!! =)

  • Redhead says:

Oh my God, Ben’s idea is BRILLIANT!! Then we can download the video and embed it in other videos and just keep going

  • Aarika says:

Spreading the good word just reminds me of something like passing out booklets in front of grocery stores, from street corners, and schools asking people in that ‘Have you accepted Jesus into your hearts?’ tone of voice – ‘Have you accepted Chester French into your iPod playlist today?’. But instead of booklets, you’d be passing out singles of your feature song with a cover of you two dressed as sad clown angels with crooked tinsel halos. It’s foolproof. I would take one.

Chester French! I saw you guys at Central Park for the summer stage concert series. Excellent JOB! I went up to Max during Q-tips run on stage while he was over at the concessions and shook his hand and told him good job, because it really was! The way to spread the good woord about Chester French is to just keep doing what your doing! Keep touring, keep pumping out that music of yours. If anything, I go to school at the University of Virginia and I have friends in the program council. I am gonna talk to them about hopefully geting ou guys to come and perform down at UVA. We have already had Jay-Z, TI, Common, and soon U2 will be coming down to perform, you guys would be great there. The Fall/Spring College tour would be excellent. Kicking off at the University of Wisconsin and ending at Harvard would be great!
I keep telling my friends about your, and playing your CD in my car, I downloaded it after you told the crowd to check out your website. I play you guys on my computer at work in my cubicle..you guys are just sick! Keep up the good work and I hope to see you guys perform again soon. College tour would be excellent. If you could se if you can get a little bio of u guys done on TV and premiere on VH1 or so. Other than that, you guys are already doing what you can. Good luck and later fellas!!!!

It would be ideal if you created a Jacques Jams infomercial similar to the “Romantic Love Songs from the 70’s”, or the “Snuggie” (personal favorite), but much classier

My brother loves Kanye West’s video for “My New Workout Plan”, which basically makes Kanye look like a cross between Jenny Craig and Jesus, it would be a good idea to look into something like that

Rap music and exercise is apparently a popular mix

There are a couple of things you can do to help promote Chester French:

-Increase the facings of their cd at your local Best Buy or other record store. I have done this at a couple of Best Buys to ensure they are at the front of the rack and have high visibility. Make sure though they are still located in the correct “C” location, but if they have multiple CDs, space them out so you block out “Chicago” or another C named band.

-For birthday presents for family and friends, include a copy of Jacque Jams with your actual present, or even better include a purchased copy of Love the Future.

-On the same note of the last idea, if you go to a wedding leave a gift wrapped copy of Love the Future at the Gift Table and simply include on the card, from “Max and DA”. This will at least get the wedding party talking at the Gift opening the next day when they open it and the Title of the CD is perfect for a newly married couple.

    That’s all for now. Enjoy

Another way we might plan to help promote the band and album along with stepping up a level for our Table Shuffleboard tounament this year is this: Next month we are having our 3rd annual Table Shuffleboard tournament at our house. It is basically a big party we have every year where 15-20 couples (25-35 friends) participate in Table Shuffleboard along with plenty of yard games and a large cookout and drinking. We usually have an Ipod mix going all night providing the background music. This year, I was thinking of having it “co-sponsored” by Jacque Jams Vol. 1 and have the CD cover featured on the poster we hang up showing the different prizes/rules and such as well as playing songs off both CDs throughout the night and having burnt copies for the players if they want to get familiar. And then depending on how crazy night gets, tape the highlights and put on youtube. Thoughts or suggestions???

Hi, I have a great Idea! but you have to act fast if you want it to work. Ok so I am at Stanford University for the summer right now. I have gone around my drom giving people your free mix tape and making chester french fans. However very soon on August 8th there is a formal on a boat in San Fran bay. I do not have a date and it sucks. I have tried all my guy friends and they are all busy. Anyway my idea was that you come as my dates and in the middle of the dance we take over the DJ booth and play your guys songs!!!!. Everyone who is on the boat will get introduced to you and or know about you but like you even more. Also I would bring in copies of your mix tape and give them to everybody. By the way I just wanted to thank you for the tickets that my friends and I won in SF when you were at Miss Sixty. It made our summer and maybe our lives. I know it is in like 2 weeks but hey I thought I would take a shot.

i think that you should definitely look into any local places in the cities you’re visiting that would be ideal for spreading your music…places where teens and young people congregate, malls, parks, etc. since thats you’re target audience. for instance i know you guys are going to saratoga springs and i have a friend who is going to school there, at skidmore college, so you could probably get a lot of publicity by just dressing up ridiculously and running around campus handing out copies of jacques jams or something.

  • IRIS says:

    i still like my blimp idea…….awesome ideas though, guys…we’re a creative bunch……

  • Frank says:

Well at least for the Holmdel NJ Concert there are a TON of people in the parking lot before hand Kids/Teens/Adults

Someone a few comments up had the “funny t-shrt” idea and I think that could work but Make them not only Funny but Loud and BIG Letters with a one word BAM hit you in the face comment ie Endurance. You can pass them out all over that parking lot and make a huge fuss and let me tell you the fans in NJ being right next to NYC and all is perfect for spreading the word about your band.

Also maybe from there head into NYC times square tip off a few reporters or magazines ( good or bad ) and do something wacking and crazy run around naked start a show… anything to get some press shots in the biggest and best city in the US

There is no such thing as bad press.
